Seneca College

Hiya. Everyday, when I go to school (I get driven, LOL, sorry Earth), and when I go home (I bus. Weeee!), I pass by Seneca College. There's the main building, but off in the background, near the highway, there is the residence building/place/house and on the side of the building it says "SENECA" in large, red, light-up letters. I included a pic...It's a little hard to see, but on the curve of the S, there is this BIG BIRD NEST. Can you see it? I think it's pretty cool.

Anyways, that nest has been there a while, and it makes me happy seeing it. Makes birds seem so much smarter and cooler. Well, as you see in the picture, the sign was falling apart and some letters didn't light up and some were not even RED anymore (poor N). So yeah, they got around to fixing it. Except they didn't just FIX IT...THEY PUT IN COMPLETELY NEW LETTERS!

What about the birds?!?! I didn't think about it when I saw it in the morning, but sitting in traffic after school (traffic near Seneca SUCKS because the highway exits are right by the college, and lots of people get on buses...UGH!!), I thought "WHERE DO THE BIRDS GO?!"

I looked, and the new letters were a lot shallower, so a nest couldn't be rebuilt on the S...:( All I could think was POOR BIRDIES.

But then I realized that the nest was still there, and whoever put in the new letters had left the bottom part of the S, so that the nest could be supported. The new letters are more to the right of the building, so the nest didn't have to be moved at all. :) Thanks contractor guys + gals + Seneca. (Y) Y'all did a nice thing, leaving that nest there. Weeeee!
